The project goal is to reduce the occurrence of violence against women and girls in southwest Nigeria and enhance engagement, capacity and accountability of community leaders and gatekeepers to promote women’s agency.

Over 6000 women and girls were reached with gender based violence prevention programmes. 2 Community response structures were established in 2 communities at Ikole local government area of Ekiti state, Nigeria and about 50 cases of violence were reported and managed by the community response team with support of BIGIF and WARDC on the project. 

Conducted survey, data analysis and reporting ,Conducted menstrual hygiene management (MHM) outreach and the distribution of menstrual products for over 16,000 school girls in Ekiti and Ondo state Supported over 45 schools with MHM facilities 

The Stop Violence Against Women in Politics (Stop VAWIP) campaign was implemented by BIGIF to address the problem of violence against women, which deters active and full participation of women in politics, especially during the elections. The Stop-VAWIP campaign also establishes the link between gender-based electoral violence and the low level of participation of women in politics.

The campaign was supported with financial and Technical support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Foreign Commonwealth Development Office (FCDO), through the National Democratic Institute (NDI).  

The United Nation Joint Program (UNJP) to strengthen the engagement of youth and  women-led CSOs to support the acceleration of transformative action to end FGM in Ekiti State.

We seek to improve the livelihood of vulnerable people and survivors with employable skills; enhance their earning capacity and also, empower them with life skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, working as a team, self-confidence, etc.
