The project goal is to reduce the occurrence of violence against women and girls in southwest Nigeria and enhance engagement, capacity and accountability of community leaders and gatekeepers to promote women’s agency.
Over 6000 women and girls were reached with gender based violence prevention programmes. 2 Community response structures were established in 2 communities at Ikole local government area of Ekiti state, Nigeria and about 50 cases of violence were reported and managed by the community response team with support of BIGIF and WARDC on the project.
